That would create a rift between the two of you. Worse case scenario, it brings an end to your friendship with him. This sorta thing does happen, you know? It's one thing to get drunk, flirt, and have fun while already in a relationship... it's a lot more risky to do it with someone that you have feelings for and may or may not reciprocate (and may not be ready for a relationship if there are other issues that need to be worked through first).
Not trying to discourage you from drinking with him or hoping for a future with him, but I'm just saying be mindful of the problems alcohol can cause given the situation.
