Let's see, given that you are unnable to aquire a ground-type outside of marshtomp, my team against watson really only had a guaranteed chance against watson if at least three pokemon had access to rock smash. This pokemon can't be aron(gets one-shotted by shock wave), Loudred dies in two shock-waves so you can't switch him in(you HAVE to sacrifice both it and another pokemon before), and other mons with a nice niche are not guaranteed to come by. Shedinja is immune to everything except the voltorbs rollout, but I really don't like sending anything into that hand grenade. Besides, shedinja doesn't have anything that hits steel types, even neutral. Man, grass starter runs are if you don't teach your groovyle rock smash, rendering him useless.
Then there's the question of the 6th gym: I haven't even faced off against that altaria and it's already giving me nightmares, since I sort of have expended most pokemon that are common that can take a dragon dance boosted earthquake!
