These traps have an extremely high appearance rate in dungeons and seem to be more common near stairs. The mon that spawn from these traps also tend to be drawn from the most powerful in the dungeon's spawn pool, and are guaranteed to be at least a level above your team.
The music is also overlayed on top of every encounter, so if you run into 3 enemies (now Monster Houses) on that floor you'll hear the Monster House theme play over itself 3 times.
And it doesn't end until you get to the next floor.
Suffer.

It's not a joke, and you can actually participate in a dating sim side game.
This HOME support is supposed to play into that dating game by letting you romance/play as any Pokémon you've ever caught, but it's very very easy to hack (to the point where any layman can do it) and within minutes of people downloading the update they find a way to transfer their HOME bros to the main game and have them appear there in a similar manner to the Dating Sim.
Miraculously, this does not break any programming within the game and functions perfectly.
