Ok /vp/ I have been thinking a lot about the speculation of dual type attacks. I have come to the conclusion that this could be a really good thing for the game and if done correctly could change a lot.
What I can forsee happening (if at all) is that dual type attacks could gain a STAB as long as one of the types matching the pokemon using the move.
For instance, if say, Drill run was retconned to be a dual type Normal/ground move and was used by fearow, he would gain STAB on the move and would give him a really great way to deal with a lot of his threats. Other moves could be used the same way to give pokemon with questionable attacking types a real boost. Normal types I believe would be the biggest beneficiaries if a lot of moves gain the normal type as the dual type. This would allow them to hit many pokemon super effectively with STAB.
Pokemon like Exploud with huge movepools but mediocre typing and questionable stats could gain a lot from this transition.
I believe that Pokemon who are 4x weak to certain types should remain the cap for multipliers. For instance a ground fighting move used on Aggron should still only give the 4 advantage. The logic behind it is Ground (part of the attack) is 2 x effective against steel and the Fighting part of the attack is 2x against rock. and should not stack.
what would you guys think if this sort of implementation were to occur?
