My first obsession was Ranma-chan, but obviously it doesn't count because it was entirely based on the gender switching gimmick (I am neither a troon/crossdresser nor do have I AGP, and if you think everyone that finds that stuff appealing is then you have a mental illness).
Actual answer: Haruhi Suzumiya. I watched her entire mid anime just due to her. I especially like her ribbon in her hair, hnng how cute is that. Her uniform is cute as well.
I don't remember Pokemon, I think my first Pokemon wife must have been Lacey (yeah, I know).
