>>44491325Based. I did something similar. There was an autist in my friend group that was really into Pokemon (would wear pins and merch at school), and he'd always talk about how good his team was. OR/AS came out in our senior year, and he found out that I had it and challenged me to a battle, telling my girlfriend, at the time, that he'd embarrass me in game.
He was running a team of 6 legendaries (Groudon, Xerneas, Kyogre, Mewtwo, and 2 others I forgot), but I had a full comp team. Ferrothorn, Lando, Mega Mence, the works. I ended up beating him pretty handily and he never challenged me to a Pokemon battle again.
Dude ended up joining the army, and I still have him on my Steam friend's list
