The Suntouched City Gym's leader is Orion. His strategy is sunspam; he's got 1 Drought setter, 2 Chlorophyll users, and a Solar Power Charmeleon as the ace.
He leads with Drought Vulpix, so I figured Dominion was the best shot; it's only got Hypnosis+Dream Eater to hit him neutral and I basically just needed to pray it would miss, since it could hit everything else on my team pretty damn strongly with Fire stab + HP grass. It missed the first Hypnosis so Dominion could get off a Dragon Rage, and then it hit the second one and Dream Eater did a huge chunk. Luckily Dominion woke up right away and killed it. If he hadn't I would have lost him and probably another member so props
Orion immediately brought out the Charmeleon, his ace, which I was NOT prepped for. I went into Freight and it turned out the guy had Fire Pledge, which isn't on the wiki, and it did 2/3 HP. I used both my healing items hoping he'd use another move, but he didn't, so Freight went down and I'm robbed of ANOTHER Mega Beedrill answer. Sigh.
I didn't know what to do, so I pulled out ol' reliable Phi. Could have been a HUGE mistake but I couldn't have done much else, Rigil is paper. The Charmeleon did absurd damage with Fire Pledge because the Sun was still somehow up and Phi actually tanked at 1 HP. Fucking insane. Psybeam took the lizard out since it was chipped from Solar Power.
Ecru stonewalled the Ivysaur, and chipped his Deerling, before I swapped to Budget for safety and finished it off with a couple Uproars.
Solid fight, but it went off the rails pretty damn quickly. Phi clutched up but I was really terrified of losing him there. Good thing he didn't crit me.
