That's why they were revealed pre-release, to get people excited, like Corviknight was. BUT, they aren't furries. Furfags won't attach onto them because of the lack of animal features, so if it's that kind of popularity you're talking about, Armarouge and Ceruledge don't have it. The closest you might get there are probably robofuckers or something. As for Gholdengo, 95% of its appreciation is just because it's super strong in comp. Even as the 1,000th mon, it would hardly get any attention if it wasn't, and most of it would probably be negative here because it's very cartoony.
