At one point the stairs didn't disappear like they normally do, but Jagold put a roadblock there anyway. Why leave the stairs then?
We get to a dead end, I'm told the mountains themselves have shifted, I sperg out about the possibility of having to fight Groudon (I have non non-Electric-type moves so it's justified). Then Regirock appears screaming at us, and my partners are all "we have to fight him." Mmmmchu mentions actually talking to him and is brushed off, and we battle.
As you can see, there's no trainer sprite here for whatever reason; they could've at least made Regirock the trainer and Pokémon like my party and Team Edgies.
Beat him, and suddenly he has amnesia. Our party pressures him, failed attempts at comic relief are made not even worth typing up, we ask him not to fuck with the mountains and he goes "sure why not I don't remember doing it in the first place" and I wake up in my home again.
