>>57165671Exactly. You could justify any type by saying "it's for balance". But what is the POINT of the type? Poison is in to represent toxic Pokemon like Muk or Arbok. Bug is in to represent insects, arachnids, and other creepy crawlies. Normal is in to represent the Pokemon that don't have any other outstanding characteristic like Tauros, Ditto, and Kangaskhan.
What would be the point of Sound? To represent Pokemon like Exploud, Chatot, and etc that are otherwise shoved into Normal for lack of a better type existing.
What's the point of Fairy? Psychic already covered the small, magical beings like Celebi, Uxie, and etc. Ghost already covered the evil and pernicious spirits like Klefki or Misdreavus. Even to this day every single Fairy type could be reclassed to another type and work just fine if Fairy was removed. You couldn't say the same for Bug, Poison, Dragon, or Water.
