>>47791792Honestly, the ad that they paired with the announcement makes me think that this is supposed to be a cool “futuristic” gimmick that’s supposed to represent a sneak peek at what is to come for Pokémon in the future (kinda like pic related for Magic, except the future actually exists), but the implementation of regional variants early really undersells the concept. Point is, it’s probably just a one-time thing and Alola will resume as normal in the coming months.
