>>54084086Firstly, I don’t want to battle a lv 35 gym leader at lv 50. It’s just not any fun. Without the ability to turn off exp share (or deliberately avoiding as many trainers as possible) this is always going to happen because you get 3x total exp (exp per individual pokemon is 50% lower, multiplied by 6 pokemon)
Secondly, because your whole team always gets the same exp, lower level team members can never catch up to higher level ones. So you end up with a couple overleveled pokemon you caught early on and a bunch of weak pokemon that contribute nothing to your team because they can’t catch up. It basically encourages the 9 year old style of play where you only use your lv 69 starter
