If you want to get back in, you should try to drop your gauge of "what Pokemon looks like" because this game has proven to be the most unorthodox game released in a long time.
To me, that almost sounds like a bonus though. All these people on /vp/ are boohooing about the dex being too small. You have plenty you haven't seen so you'll have lots of pokemon to discover for the first time!
