A big problem I have with Hoenn is that it sort of has this theme park feel, like it doesn't make sense for there to be a jungle right next to a fucking desert. Meanwhile Sinnoh is a lot more realistic in that sense, while still having a lot of diversity route-wise - the whole region is mostly cold, especially in the north, though the south is noticeably warmer. You then got your marshlands, your valleys, your forests, your rocky montainous areas, your beaches, your snowy toundras - and it all makes sense for all these biomes to be there, which makes the region overall a lot more lively and fun to explore, in my opinion. The cities are also very cool, it shows that GF did their best to give each major one a distinct feel. There's also a lot of hidden dungeons and such to explore, like the cave where you can find Gibble and Fuego Ironworks, it felt really cool to discover those as a kid. I don't think Hoenn has as many
