I liked X/Y and still do for what they were - a good start to 3D which is saying something since I dislike 3D CGI in general - but I was one of the dupes who honestly thought they'd bring back everything with the follow ups after the barebones beginning to 3D with X/Y.
Then Masuda just kept opening his stupid fucking mouth and OR/AS happened and Masuda kept opening his mouth... Yeah.
I still had a little tiny sparkle of hope going into Gen 7 knowing it was an anniversary game so maybe they'd put in the work to honor all of us who had supported them over the years but once the datamining started that was about it.
Well, besides a small resurgence when Kanto re-remakes kept coming up in rumors and I thought MAYBE if they were to actually happen they'd feel compelled to actually keep up with the other Nintendo games going back to their roots and building up. Never really expected it but there was just that small sparkle of possibility again which got crushed out pretty quick.
