>>14315542I agree, I think the reason we don't have light type is that in japanese what we called "dark type" is actually knows as the "evil" (aku) type. And if you think about it the pokémon are more about evil than darkness.
Crawdaunt is a bully
Honchcrow is a crime lord
Houndoom is a hell hound
Sableye is a naughty trickster
Scrafty is a youth gangster
Spiritomb are the spirits of sinners bound to a prison
So the opposite would not be a light type but a "good" or "hero" type. In Japan, fighting (kakutou) fills that slot as is comprised of champion pokémon who oppose and are super effective against evil.
By this logic it makes sense that there is no light type. That's how I always think about it.I lived in Japan when dark was introduced, see.
