>>39974704This unironically happened to me when I played Pokémon Ruby for the first time, except it was Treecko, and I too thought it was a palette glitch that my Treecko was light blue/cyan instead of green. Ultimately, I looked up on the manual how to reset the save file and got a regular Treecko. I only found out about the existence of shinnies in 2005, in a cohesive official poster/guide for RSE/LGFR, which had all the locations for every Pokémon in these games, and also explained about natures, IVs, EVs, hidden powers, shininess and Pokérus.
