Here's my first proper contribution to the thread, loosely based on my latest Violet playthrough: meet Merry, an overworked, mid-level manager at her local branch of a large multinational conglomerate. Dreamed of being a travelling Pokemon master when little before her upbringing forced her into a more "realistic" career path and crushed her dreams: even now as a grown adult, she hasn't found the courage to leave the safety net of her work to do what she truly wants to do.
Despite this, she still finds the time to continue training Pokemon in the middle of her busy routine. Incidentally, she's become an unintentional Ghost type specialist, as those are the kinds of creatures she manages to encounter late at night in her urban prison: a Rotom wreaking havoc in the office break room, a Sinistea sneaking into her coffee, a Shuppet that clung on to her during a particularly bad day, etc.
...as you can see, I have the basic profile covered, so now I'm figure out where to take her next to build a proper narrative. Maybe she hears the local Gym is vacant and she decides to give it a shot? Maybe she's sent on a work trip and this lets her explore new horizons? Maybe she's actually fired, or quits altogether? This is the hard part ngl.
