Roark fight was actually a little intense. Budew OHKO'd Geodude and Onix no problem. It surprisingly outspeeds Onix so I expect it to outspeed Cranidos too. It does and 2HKOs with Mega Drain. Cranidos goes for Leer and I'm feeling good going beating the first gym without taking any damage. Then, it turns out it was actually a speed tie and Cranidos rams Budew with a Headbutt and it lives on 2 HP. That shit was crazy. I doubt most people play around speed ties (unless they're using docs) but I guess the "safer" play was switching to Monferno and Mach Punching. Fucking speed ties.
More to come soon, I'm not planning on using anything on this team besides Monferno and Budew so I'm hoping we can get some interesting encounters soon.
