Having been on this pokeride since nearly the beggining i've seen it all, from the good, to best to worse to questionable, to interesting to horrible. For well over 20 decades its been pretty clear why people like pokemon this much and what they want more out of it, so here's the number one thing that pisses me off above all else. Gamefreak doesnt care. After the first 4 or even 5 gens its pretty telling that they simply stopped caring and that alone is infuriating. Its infuriating that said company managed to create the textbook definition of adventure in videogame form so long ago and in the present they just refuse to put the same amount of effort, energy and passion into it and make something truly amazing. There's all this huge legacy, all this great content and the immense potential to work on something that is both faithful to the spirit of the series but also a lot more modern, and what do they do? Half assed remakes, omega casual and streamlined core games, cutting huge amounts of content in the name of "optimization" of which none exists when the most ugly pokemon game can make the switch CHUG despite competitors such as Xenoblade doing a lot more with ease. This is the most upsetting part. They CAN make better games, they HAD made better games, these games are a living proof, its right there and yet they refuse to do it again because they simply do not care.
