The writers screwed themselves big time here. Nobody is gonna want more of these "world adventures" with how dirty they did to the whole cast, Ash's team is underdeveloped, his battles are short, Goh is nowhere near catching all and someone even noticed he only has one Sinnoh pokémon (Mantyke of all things), more times than not, they do not move from Kanto, and even when they do, they barely do anything with the regions. Heck, the format even hurt Galar because a good chunk of characters never appeared.
And just think about this: if Ash and Goh are kicked out of their goals, people are gonna hate it, even more than any of the Leagues. Know why? Not just because they'd be kicked out after making such massive efforts, but because at least in those leagues, Ash had the excuse that he'd meet a brand-new cast of characters, have a different team, go to new places, face a different evil team and so on. Journey continuing is just gonna be more of the same shit we've seen the last three years but with Spain stuff appearing every once in a while.
Nobody wants that.
