First, it continues the retarded naming scheme that semi-started with XY but began in earnest with Sun/Moon. Terrible names.
Second, the starters are awfully designed. It's the same detail-less smooth and shiny body that Pokemon have had since Gen 5. We get yet another monkey and yet another Fire type that seems destined for a fighting archetype. The water one in my opinion is by far the most offensively ugly, but that's not saying much.
Third, that it takes place in a Britain inspired land is yet another sign of taking after the nu-school of Gen 5 by not being set in a Japan inspired region. For one reason or another, Western lands just haven't been having the same impact as the Japanese regions.
Fourth, the music style is just not suitable for Pokemon in the first place, let alone for the setting that is the backdrop for the style. The techno just doesn't meld with the sleepy marsh environments we've been shown.
