So every gen a very small handful of Pokémon have special evo methods and items. No shit after 20 years its going to add up.
But in these past 20 years, they have made sure that every single Pokémon is allowed to be in every single game they make, along with all the relevant items and such needed.

Now don't get me wrong, how they have handled some of this stuff in Gen 6/7 is certainly less than satisfactory. They've missed some opportunities, and been sloppy/lazy with others.
But actually complaining about them making sure all of this stuff is always available is beyond retarded. Actually wanting them to retcon all this shit just because it's not convenient enough to you is just retarded. Oh boo-hoo, a very small amount (like 20) of Pokémon in the 800+ total have a special evo method, wahhhh, lets retcon everything! Jesus.
