Two Scientists have found one of the Elemental Orbs in the cave, not knowing what it is. We explain to them that it's an Elemental Orb, telling them that it being an Elemental Orb is literally the only thing we know about it.
Our conversation is cut short as a shadowy figure similar to the one from
>>22034813 descends from a perch and walks toward us. We tell the scientists to run and we enter a battle, and the shadow battles us; note that its sprite is green this time, so I guess the red shadow wasn't edgy at all and it just happened to line up with having the red Orb.
I'm going to purposefully lose and win the battle to see the different results.
The Guardian has Lv. 48 Victreebel, Lv. 49 Golem, Lv. 50 Dewgong, Lv. 51 Scizor, and Lv. 52 Typhlosion. I take them all down without too much trouble, but decide to throw the match anyway to see the Game Over screen. There's no cutscene or anything, just the screen in pic and it plays some sad music that I can't put my finger on, I think it's something they play on one of the radio channels.
Winning the fight like normal, the Game Over Sequence de-activates, the Guardian tells me something it will all be over soon, and the scientists analyze the Orb.
According to them, there was a phenomenon 1000 years ago (that has been discussed repeatedly over the course of the hack) that caused a large amount of energy in the world to suddenly disappear (among other things, the Crisis was apparently some extremely heavy shit even though we don't know what exactly it was) despite the conservation of mass. The Orb contains approximately one-quarter of the estimated energy loss. If the energy were to be released it would be like a nuke, but it's sealed in such a way that, and they've officially stated this, no science could ever possibly break the bond. This is some real heavy fake science going on.
They let me have the Orb after they finish like they said they would.
