Forget the timelines. If for years the Male MC and Rival were named after the colors Red and Green (no matter what version or reimaniging of the characters), then by fucking logic the female MC would be called Blue
Never mind localizations either. Calling the rival Blue and the girl Green isn't incorrect either because it should be common knowledge that they get named like that in the west because we never gor the Green Version.
Leaf was always a placeholder. Always. Yes, it comes from the game data but We, the fans started using it because she literally didn't have a canon name and that went in for 14 years or so with her not having a canon name. I get that some people got used to it, but it's time to move on.
So a figurine used the placeholder. So what? The games were announced since early this year and the Kotobukiya figurine was anounced roughly just a month ago. They haven't released her before was probably precisely that she still hasn't had an official name. They still have to sort out licensor approval so who knows if the name is going to be eventually changed later to Blue as well. And if it does, it would still be the most reasonable decision.
