Maybe if you want to get a little crazy,
>Pawniard can split-evo into a Rook-style Pokemon, depending on Attack/Sp. Attack IVs
>Rook would have a Sp. Attack -based movepool
>Would look similar to Bisharp, but in a robe instead. (I'm thinking something like, a nice little castle-shaped hat, and a robe.)
I'm not entirely sure how you would mix the concepts together, but maybe it would be something akin to Porygon2 compared to Porygon-Z, where one isn't necessarily inferior to the other, but just has different advantages and disadvantages.
Even crazier yet,
>Final evo would get a special move where the power is boosted by a small percentage (maybe 2%-5%) for each member of the Pawniard line you have in your party, but each inactive Pokemon loses a fraction of their health.
I know they would probably never implement an evo-line as complicated as that, but I like to dream. It seems like a really cool idea to me, and I'd train the fuck out of them. I feel like at least, Bisharp's going to have one more evo somewhere down the line. Anyways, what are your thoughts, /vp/? Cool? Too complicated? I should burn in hell for my insolence?
Anyways, I guess Pawniard line appreciation thread. They're really overlooked, in my opinion. A really cool concept that nobody really pays any attention to.
