I remember, clear as day, walking into my grandma's kitchem for afterschool cartoons and seeing the weird bus commercial for the red and blue videogames. I remember thinking the pokemon looked cool and getting tingles seeing them crushed by the machine into the gameboy and unable to escape him. I wanted to trap my own and laugh as it tried to escape.
Watched the anime afterwards, the squritle squad episode. Rest is history
