Just beat the E4 in this for the first time since I was like 11, and I'd like to discuss it. What is everyone's general consensus on Johto?
Personally, I find it to be flawed, but not as bad as everyone likes to claim.
>Leveling
Yes, you end up taking on the E4 in your mid 30s, but that's enough for you to beat them as well. I just cleared them. My highest level was 38, lowest 34, and I did fine. No, you're not going to be in your 40s-50s like you would in any other game, but you're appropriately leveled to where you can indeed beat them. I don't see the big deal there.
>Johto is small
Small as it may be, it still me 25 hours to clear the main game, whereas it took me 21 to beat Yellow a couple weeks ago. It keeps you busy enough to compensate for the size, as 23-25'ish hours is about my personal average for a Pokemon game.
I didn't find those two issues to be as big as people make them out to be. Couple things I do agree with are the weak wild Pokemon in Kanto (which I'll experience soon) and some Johto Pokemon just being outright unavailable in Johto itself (I'd kill for a Houndour early on). Those do annoy me.
But yeah, what do you guys think about Johto? Like it, hate it, let's discuss.
