Asked one of the animators if they knew why Aitwo/Ambertwo was cut from the new Mewtwo movie.
He wasn't able to tell me the reason why but it looks like the decision to cut her was made very early on in the film's production based on his comments and what I've researched from other sources.
Also doesn't look like we're getting a "full" Kanzenban version of the movie like we did the original. Oh well. Doesn't look like the DVD release will be worth buying after all.
