Why are people expecting future Legends games to be just "region we already know, but in the past"?
What's stopping Game Freak from releasing a game taking place in a new region in the present-day pokémon world with some new pokémon but call it a Legends and not a new generation? Or even something even crazier like a game in the future, in outer space or in the Ultra Beast's worlds?
They could even get rid of the concept of generations entirely. Instead of releasing a game with dozens of new pokémon every 3 years, and DLCs/remakes with a couple new mons in-between, they could introduce several new pokémon every year through both the "core" series and the Legends series.
They said this series could be a new step for the franchise as a whole. I think making it just glorified remakes would be super lame, even though I like the idea of seeing the original Unova dragon or the Kalos war.
