Although just a single month has passed since the release of XY, I am already eager for something - anything - in the ways of a sequel that could elaborate on the original story and put a fitting, satisfying closure to it.
Like Pokemon R/S and D/P, Pokemon X/Y puts us through a storyline that leaves us mere inches away from destruction of entire Pokeworld.
However, the story which was left at an emotional cliffhanger within R/S and D/P has been expanded considerably in Emerald and Platinum, in both cases supplanting 'last moment rescue' with something more... deterministic, each time involving that third pokemon whose sole purpose was to curb the destruction left by preceding two:
>R/S: Your timely arrival saves entire world from being drowned/dried up;
>Emerald: it turns out that Rayquaza would have stopped entire mess anyway.
>D/P: Your timely arrival saves the Universe from being blown up by Cyrus.
>Platinum: It turns out that Giratina and Distortion World holds reality together and Cyrus has yet to figure out which part of either will grind the existence to a crashing halt;
>X/Y: Your timely arrival saves the planet from being turned into a lifeless wasteland with a single lounge of chosen ones in the middle of it.
>Z: ??????????????????????????????????????
Since we already got Zygarde, how will it all pan out in a hypothetical sequel to XY?
