>>12814483>>12814480Here's the only problem with this:
newfriends are lifeblood. When a community stops getting new members it starts to crystalize. It becomes rigid, stagnant, and aggressive towards new ideas -- even if those new ideas are just new jokes or new names. To lose out on new people will just heighten the problem. This is a basic idea in the psychology of group dynamics and with the rise of the internet has had hundreds of thousands of examples come about. It's a well-studied and documented result of our pack mentality. It is solid science that when a core group begins to isolate and resist influence it becomes aggressive and embittered. It is simply fact, an easy application of principle, that
oldfags are killing Showderp.
The solution is to stop resisting change and to stop identifying yourself even TO YOURSELF and in TOTAL PRIVACY as an oldfag. It is this elitism, this self-imposed isolation and fear of change, that causes the issues. This is especially bad on 4chan where it runs especially counter to the idea of rapid mutation and anonymity. Showderp ITSELF is a mutation of a mutation of a mutation, and the Showderp six months of now -- and it can live that long if allowed to run freely -- could itself be a mutation from this one. And that's fine. Change is the way of the world and it is better to embrace it.
