>>39895434I agree. Gen II and III had great human designs. Gen I by comparison was good but a bit unrefined, which was charming but inferior imo. Later, the outfits for girls kept getting sexier, but the human models themselves were less stylized, and over time males and females just became generic anime characters for the most part.
By the time of gen IV it was clear to see the art direction was moving towards being rounder and safer like everything fucking else these days, and now I feel like Pokémon has lost most of what made it unique, art-wise.
