>>47850227>you don't give Incineroar the perfect stats and abilities to be VCG nightmare "by coincidence".yet, Primarina's declared the queen of Singles for the rest of Generation 7 over Doubles Incineroar or the school shooter owl (who was only good in TGC btw)
>Smashwhich "totally" explains why Decidueye was up for consideration along with Incineroar. Keep in mind that was top of it being in Pokken and set to be featured in Pokemon Legends.
Nah, something tells me Incineroar got into Smash out of pure luck. If Smash didn't lack a wrestling character, would it still got in now?
>>47850403>Sakurai also mentions he "looks for Pokemon that are in movies"yeah, that's why we almost got Swampert, and not the rats who did get considered, in Brawl right?
or Entei in Melee, the same movie that had some Pikachu & Pichu short nobody cared about?
>Battle DomeOh yes, the one area that was briefly introduce early one then immediately dropped to irrelevance for the rest of the game. They didn't even bother to keep making battle royales the centered part of the game like what Gen 8 did.
> Lucario debuts with a movie, amazing stats and a unique typing. Greninja shows up with amazing stats, a broken ability, "randomly" gets chosen for Smash, and gets to be Ash's XY ace. Cinderace hops on the scene as a soccer player in a region where the gyms are giant soccer fields, has a broken signature move AND gets Greninja's bullshit ability.Compare to any of these, Incineroar is the weakest one to the bunch.
All of the theme were good in singles and appeared a lot in the anime, that doesn't describe Incineroar. It's like saying Rillaboom is a major shillmon because Grookey is Goh's shouldermon and is decent as hell in VGC.
and arguably, Ash and Cross' Lycanrocs had bigger roles and marketing compared to Incineroar's fillerous appearances in the anime and movies. More comparably to Zoroark, who also had a botched aggressive marketing (pushed to events).
