Fuck sakes gen 3's best asset are the Gamecube games and you didn't even include them.
FrLg is a 1:1 translation of the main game of the gameboy game with zero liberties taken (to the point of annoyance, like with evolutionary blocks to maintain gen 1 purity and blocking your trading capabilities) and a crap version of the games visuals and music, and a mediocre endgame that mostly just exists because gen 3 had no connectivity and caused fuckloads of Pokemon to become unattainable.
Hoenn is an obtuse mess designed to sell strategy guides over being a pleasant experience for the player and the battle frontier at the end of Emerald IS quality and the saving grace of Hoenn, but it's a bitch to build up teams for in Gen 3 where fuckloads of Pokemon were hard to obtain
Not to mention that collectively Gen 3 was the gen to make dropping features a series standard from that point forward, as well as other shit design decisions like 1:1 following the game structure of RBY and mandating new shitmons to directly replace Ratata, Pidgey, Caterpie, etc every gen
