No game before used internet connectivity in the way X/Y used it and allowed for a roster of Pokemon that allowed people who skipped Gen 3, Gen 4 and/or 5 to catch on.
Many animations were well done and gave each Pokemon a certain personality in Amie.
Now, my issue is that X/Y was meant to be done only once, and every game since then has been X/Y with minimal tweaks specially on the animation usage for Pokemon battles, and they have no excuse for carrying that on on the Switch.
