Not that it'll ever happen but I feel GF should add more aesthetic variation to 'mons within a species outside of Shinies. If I were in charge I'd be tempted to have about 3 different "common" variations of a given species and have Shinies be much more noticable/different.
Perhaps even give it a functional purpose and have the colour variations be based on nature, giving you some hint as to what you're catching/fighting.
