>>12313499Yes, exactly. It was basically just an addon of gen 1 with some fixes but almost no individuality of its own. Most of the pokémon you catch in Johto are either first gen pokémon or evolutions or rip-offs of first gen pokémon. Half the game is spend wandering through a suspiciously empty Kanto. Same league, same evil team, etc.
It didn't feel like a new game to me. When I first played Silver it just made me want to play Pokémon Red again.
