NGL, megas were a decent breath of fresh air, but that's gone now too, and seemingly from this point forward any gimmick's gonna be gen specific, so what's the point? The core of what pokemon is got stale after gen 2 (the death of pokemania, funnily enough) and everything they've done to breath life back into the games has been stripped away to continue chasing that original pokemania hype, because they still think that's enough.
