>>44060217I got a bunch of stuff I can recall
>Gen I and II>used to play with my older brother, he'd get one version (Red and Silver), I'd get the other (Blue and Gold)>I also got Yellow, and I learned what levels were from my brother when he saw that my Pikachu was about to hit Lv 100>he got Crystal though and I remember throwing a fit 'cause I wanted to play it too, which was pretty immature of me>used to play a lot of Stadium (and 2) and Hey You Pikachu back then too>remember seeing my brother fight a Dragonite with his Venusaur and somehow remembering that he used Sleep Powder on the Dragonite even though it was Paralyzed and it fell asleep>that's probably not how it works but I swear I have that memory>Gen III>brother grew out of Pokemon at this point, while I still kept playing>got Ruby>Hoenn felt really grand and big, legit felt lost at a few times>didn't know how to get to Mauville or Sootopolis at first 'cause I was dumb>Blaziken and Aggron basically carried my run>got Leaf Green a while before it officially came out here>it was partially translated up to Viridian Forest, but after that it was all Japanese>the Pokemon names were translated but to five letters, so Charizard is Charz, Raichu is Raich etc>I think the moves were all English too so I could figure out what moves were what>had a lot of fun, then got Fire Red to do it all over again but in English>Gen IV>got Diamond>Sinnoh was also very vast and grand, and it felt like a true adventure>it was also pretty damn tough>team was Staraptor, Torterra, Blissey, and Gyarados, with two HM Slaves>remember being incredibly underleveled at E4, but Blissey and Gyarados fought tooth and nail to seize the dayThose are probably my some of my favourite childhood memories of Pokemon
I still kept playing up to now though, but nothing could really capture the feeling of being new and inexperienced and just doing whatever the hell, and feeling like each game is a true adventure
