>>43837051If they didn't supervise it, the anime wouldn't be able to exist at all because they wouldn't know what Pokemon look from different angles, how they act, or they fight. The only way they can know any of that is from the reference sheets Game Freak gives them for each Pokemon. Plus you have stuff like Ash-Greninja making it into the games, and Dusk Lycanroc debuting in the anime several months before its game came out.
