May started off as clumsy/goofy girl who had no idea what to do until she got into Contests and was then heavily influenced by her rivals. May had a shoujo character arc where she was a mix of girly/tomboyish and dealt with Drew flirting with her and Harley harrassing her and all 3 had a well done dynamic.
