"mar" is a longer, drawn out sound and would be spelled マー, mā, using the Japanese syllabary.
"mal" is a short sound and would be spelled マル, maru.
There is no way マーシャドー would be romanized as Malshadow. Maulshadow or Mallshadow could have been possible contenders, but a short "mal" is incorrect.
It might seem insignificant, but it's a pretty big "mistake" on the leaker's part.
