Given that Doduo and Dodrio communicate between their heads with telepathy it is a given that this Pokemon will someday develop true psychic abilities and typing. Like in the case of Psyduck and Golduck, it is believed that its latent psychic abilities are the result of a freak mutation in its DNA. A single fossil from only two million years ago reveals a Pokemon eerily similar to a Doduo, but with a single enlarged head. This has lead scientists to theorize that the evolution of Doduo's second head, and Dodrio's third, is an adaptation to curb these painful headaches by spreading out its brain power. Scientists speculate that a third evolution of Doduo might unlock secondary Psychic typing and possibly one or more extra heads.
