the shabbiness and uncanny look of Nishida's illustrations in the e-card sets doesn't look like an intentional stylistic choice. it just looks awful and amateurish, like someone haphazardly abused the photoshop smudge tool.
compare this with Komiya Tha God's illustrations which look bizarre and abstract, sure, but very deliberate and cohesive
