After Princeton's death, it dawned on Cornell that this journey was DANGEROUS. There was an acute sense of unease purveying his every move afterward, and eventually he'd had enough.
Just a few days after Princeton's death, Cornell announced his retirement to the rest of the team. He emphasized just how dangerous running from the police was, and explained that he wanted nothing to do with it anymore. One death was enough.
The Tranquil gave his goodbyes to the rest of the team, giving brief speeches to each member before finally bidding Charline adieu, and took off. Right into the skies, supposedly flying back to the Virbank Complex where he'd come from.
The one-two punch of losing two team members that fast hit Charline like a train. She ended up staying over two weeks in Nimbasa, hardly coming out of hotel room for half of it, while her team cared for her and went out on their own to pretend that she wasn't training them.
One night, however, she heard a knock on her door.
Through the windows, Charline could see that there were red and blue flashing lights behind it.
Red and blue...
Her heart racing, she headed over to the door, opening it with anxious trepidation for what was to come, ready to run at any moment. And as she opened it-
-she was greeted with the sight of Elesa, the region-famous model.
Whatever she was doing here, the young trainer had no idea.
Elesa soon got to explaining.
The electric-type trainer had seen Charline bury Princeton. She expressed her sympathies, though she mentioned that she'd have to report it to the local Beheeyem. At least she had an excuse- she'd say that Charline was trying to help bury a dead wild mon. That'd work.
Elesa continued. She stated that the Beheeyem would probably be checking her room regardless, by tomorrow night. The model then stated one last thing: tomorrow morning, Charline needed to toughen up her pokemon alongside the trainer-turned-model. Then she had to be out of Nimbasa by 5pm.
