That said, don't beat yourself up if you can't have that particular girl. Life ain't the movies but at the same time people who say empty reassuring things like "you'll find someone else" or "there's plenty of fish in the sea" don't help much either.
It's easy to see why someone invests in the idea of their dream girl, but you'll find that's little more than an idea. Very few people have themselves figured out let alone have their shit together and being in or pursuing a relationship is often a wake-up call to the things you should have worked on about yourself. Career, spending habits, how you spend your day, etc., It's all an adjustment and it's an adjustment you have to work on, possibly gradually.
If all you want is your life + some nookie, just get a prostitute. It's cheaper in the long run and less overhead to deal with. The whole idea of having a meaningful relationship, family of four in a nice house is about as realistic as living in a mansion for some now and that's fucking horrifying.
