>>46225378The problem isn't that Blaziken is humanoid. Or even a humanoid starter in general. The difference between Blaziken and something like Cinderace is pretty evident. The reason why one is considered good and other is not is because how the shapes and features are used. Blaziken is a very sharp and angular design. It's a lof jagged feather patterns and rugged muscle structure. This is far more "monstrous" compared to something like Cinderace or even Incineroar to a lesser extant. Cinderace uses a lot of rounded shapes and softer features which makes it more cutsey andl more human-esque.
It all comes down to how people prescribe features to monsters and other features to humans. Mosters are often depicted as more rugged, angular and jagged like Blaziken, while we normally perceive humans to be softer, smoother and more rounded, like Cinderace.
