>>35122415Lies. They are actively trying not to recycle NPC names. They will reuse a name if it a "corrupted" derivative, or alt. spelling for differentiation. Idk if it's just the task of the localization teams that self-impose this rule but it is certainly in place. Replay anything on the 3DS and you'll see things like Katherine vs Catherin etc. John vs Jon. I think after Youngster Joey they realized that a name could catch on within the community as an inside joke and wanted to individualize the dialogues so they can be referenced without confusion
