Protector's final arc is almost finished and the story with Sneasel/Buizel is in its third draft. I'm likely going to develop the latter into a series for ongoing R&J antics and interesting plot reasons.

Dialogue is an excellent way to break away from the narrative voice. Especially true you write a lot of descriptive details about the world. How your characters interact with others becomes an opportunity not to pass up even if it is awkward.
>a 20k chapter was a slog to read I get where you're coming from. Been there and have made it a general rule to not do it any more. There is usually a part where you could split up a chapter of that size. If you need help just ask someone to look it over and have them tell you where they think you should make an appropriate chapter break.
